It can be scary when memories of abuse and trauma refuse to stay in the past and insist on interfering with your present. There is a frustration and confusion that comes when you want to be close to others, but you've also learned that people and the world aren't safe.
If you are reliving past traumas and want to break free from the prison of pain, if you are seeking a deeper understanding of your purpose and the human condition, or if you want desperately to experience joy, but are unsure how to learn to trust and be vulnerable in order to reach that goal, Jamie will guide you through the obstacles that are standing in the way and provide a safe place for you to rewrite your understanding of your past, so you can have a better future.
Jamie has extensive personal and professional experience that contribute to her desire to help others find healing after abuse and trauma. She loves helping individuals find beauty in their stories and see the narrative of their lives in more beneficial ways. She works with individuals and couples and has a specific focus on entrepreneurial challenges .
CERTIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Jamie McNally, Ph.D., LPC is the owner and Clinic Director of Sycamore Counseling & Coaching, LLC.
She graduated with her Master's in Counseling Psychology from Moody Theological Seminary in 2013 and her Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision in 2020.
Jamie is passionate about education and training and, in addition to her role at Sycamore, has previously served as a Department Chair, Assistant Professor, and Clinical Director for Master of Arts in Counseling programs. She also previously worked as an EAP Account Manager and Adjunct Professor. Jamie was also the Clinic Manager of InterSessions Psychological Services Clinic where she worked for several years training over 75 Graduate Student Interns who were pursuing their Masters in Counseling Psychology.
Jamie is a veteran of the United States Air Force; she served for over twelve years in the Air National Guard and deployed to multiple locations around the world, including in support of Hurricane Katrina relief and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Her interest in helping military members and other first responders has led her to research the areas of trauma and moral injury to ensure that the team at Sycamore Counseling Services is able to provide targeted care to these populations.
