Sarah Bovan, MA, LLPC

Specializing in EMDR/trauma, anxiety, depression, relational issues, and spiritual concerns

Life can be challenging and no matter our age or stage in life, we are faced with uncertainty and internal battles. It is often easy to hide those struggles whether it be because of anxiety, fear or shame.

In isolation, the pain compounds and cripples. However, there is hope.

God calls us to walk in relationship and His desire is that we experience true healing. As a counselor, I count it a privilege to be invited into people’s lives and entrusted to walk alongside them to a path of wholeness and healing. I desire for people to truly understand their identity and what it means that we are created in the image of God. My approach to therapy is a cognitive behavioral model which is also flexible to the needs of the individual. It is important to me that I approach therapy with evidence-based treatments which also fall under a Biblical worldview.

I value relationships and find it a joy to link my 10+ years of experience with discipleship-based ministry and the field of counseling psychology. I enjoy working with children, teenagers and adults. I am equipped to counsel individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational difficulties and spiritual issues. Children and young people face unique challenges and as the adult in their life, I know it can be hard to know how to support them through uncertainty and difficulty. As a Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional, I am equipped with the tools to assist children and their caretakers in the aftermath of trauma through self-regulation and play therapy. If your child is becoming withdrawn, struggling academically, having behavioral issues, going through transitions or has experienced trauma, I can provide a safe environment for them to learn, grow and heal. I also seek to support the parent or primary caregiver in the therapeutic process through partnership and intervention training.
